SG Leader Training

If you sign up for Jesus Weekend (Nov. 13-14), pick the Small Group Leader Training (read about it here). You will get the $20/person discount if you are one of the first 50, and you will get a bonus Person of Jesus Training in the weeks preceding the event. We are arranging for seeJesus to come to NPC a little early and give us the Person of Jesus track so that we are ready to go for the SG Training at Jesus Weekend.

UPDATE: If you sign up for the Small Group Training and have not participated in a Jesus Weekend or Person of Jesus Seminar, there will be an additional training opportunity prior to the weekend at no charge. This is a prerequisite to the training on Nov 13-14, 2009. More information forthcoming.

New Adult Education class are beginning September 13 with a preview of five different classes available to the church this fall term. Encourage your small group members to take time during the education hour (9:55-10:45 am) to join others in the Worship Center to hear about the following classes:

• Big Ideas of the Bible
• The Gospel-Centered Life

Jesus Weekend

A weekend of training, encouragement and spiritual nourishment... Whether you are a brand new Christian or a pastor, you will encounter The Person of Jesus like never before.

On Friday evening, as you study the gospels, you’ll discover your heart being captured by the beauty of Jesus. A pastor said, “The interactive study of the life of Jesus made Him come alive in a way I have rarely seen or heard.” A pastor’s wife wrote, “I am embarrassed (and sad) that I’ve overlooked seeing Him as a person.”

On Saturday three different tracks expand your awareness of Jesus. The Person of Jesus track immerses you in what Jesus is like as a person and offers you the opportunity of learning how to teach interactively and reaching out to non-Christians.

A second track, Small Group Leader Training, gives participants hands on training in leading inductive Bible studies as it immerses participants in the Passion of Jesus or one other aspect of Jesus’ life.

Finally, we know how hard it is to sustain a consistent life of prayer. The PrayerLife track is designed for Christians who long to have a rich prayer life, but are frustrated by the busyness of life.
