Ministry Plans for 2010-2011

Below you will find linked our church's Annual Ministry Plan for the 2010-2011 year. This document will guide our purposes, preaching, ministry efforts and vocabulary for the coming year.

I hope you will take the time to click through, download and review the document as a small group leader and as a member of the church. Please take this document to your small group in the coming weeks and encourage your members to prayerfully work through the scripture, the ideas for ministry, and consider their/your participation this season in the life of the church.

We are excited what this year will bring, we always are at the beginning of a new year. There are many opportunities and possible relationships that await each of us.

HSM Talent Show and Spaghetti Dinner

Spaghetti Dinner and Talent Show
April 11, Dinner 5-6:30 pm | Talent 7:00 pm

Come join the High School Ministry as we serve up a  meal and showcase the gifts God has blessed us with in a Dr. Seuss themed Talent Show. This is our annual fundraiser for the HSM summer mission trips.

All money donated goes to offset the cost of the trips for the students. This year we are going to the Yakama Indian Reservation in Washington State, and to the Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky.  Please come out and support our trips and enjoy a great evening of food and fun.

Dinner is free, donations greatly appreciated. 

Haiti Missions Team Packing Event

From the Haiti Mission Team Leadership:

The resources are in for the Haiti Mission Team and now we need people to help pack the materials for the trip. On behalf of the Mission Team: the packing event is at church, February 6, from 8:00 - 11:00 am. Children are invited to help but must be accompanied by a parent.

Haiti Mission Team Support

This February, NPC has a group of people willing to travel and serve in Haiti.  On our last trip to Haiti, our medical team was able to treat over 900 children.  We have been asked to expand our ministry on this next trip to include adults!

Would your Small Group be willing to join in and help collect some specific supplies (see below) that our travelers will need to have?  We are praying for 6 small groups to partner with us.

Due date for items will be January 24th.

Haitian Christmas Project

Update on the Haitian Christmas Project:

We have the information on the children and the process for purchasing gifts. If you are interested in taking part in this ministry opportunity, purchasing and wrapping the gifts for these Haitian children, please email Nate Conrad at the church office, thank you!

Update: all the needs that we have agreed to fund through NPC have been met! What an overwhelming response from our small group ministry, thank you so much! We are looking to secure more funding for the project, if we are able to secure funding for more children we will need more small groups. Please watch here for more information!

Michael and Tess Langer

 Church planters in Iowa City, IA.

Recently, we had the joy of welcoming Michael and Tess Langer to NPC. NPC has partnered with the Langers and other ministers in Iowa during the floods of 2008.

Members of NPC may be interested in how they can hear more about the Langers and support them in ministry in this college town. As a small group leader will you consider passing along the following information to your small group, and consider prayerfully supporting them in their new church plant?

Lunch with the Knaaks

Visit with the Knaaks on Sunday, November 2, 12:30 pm in the Adult Education classrooms.

Patric and Jennifer Knaak will be here at NPC this weekend for a lunch hosted by the World Outreach Team. All are welcome to attend and hear what one of our former pastors has been up to at World Harvest Mission as the Gospel Resource Network Director. We are excited to be able to support the Knaaks in their ministry at WHM and look forward to being with them this weekend.

Small Groups and Missions

Attention Small Group Leaders:

John and Kathy Clow and family, are NPC supported missionaries to the deaf community in Mexico. The Clows will be in Naperville and available to meet with the NPC community as part of their Home Mission Assignment.  They are scheduled to be at NPC on Friday, October at 7 pm to meet with Small Groups.  Please consider having your "group meeting" that night to meet them and hear how God is using them to spread the Gospel and how we, as small groups, can encourage and support them.

Friday, October 10 at 7 pm at NPC, we will offer childcare for children up through 5 years old. Children 6 years and older are encouraged to attend the time with the Clow family.

If your group is unable to meet on the 10th, and you would still like to meet with the family, please contact Carol Wittmann through the church office to schedule a time to meet with them (10/10 - 10/23).
